Veterans Day is always a special day in Opelika, as we honor the brave men and women who answered the call to serve and protect that which we hold dear: our freedom. It’s a day to reflect on the sacrifices and commitments made by our friends, neighbors, sons and daughters in uniform.
And it’s a day to remember – freedom isn’t free – and that our courageous soldiers who fought for that very freedom deserve respect and recognition for their service. We may not know them all, but we owe them a great deal of gratitude for their strength and pride in our country.
On behalf of our community, our State and our Nation, we thank you. We are indebted to you and stand with you today and always.
