Opelika defeated Enterprise 44-27 last Friday at Bulldog Stadium in the last regular season football game. The Bulldogs finished the regular season 10-0 for the first time since 2003. (OHS Head Coach Brian Blackmon was the offensive coordinator that year.)
OHS scored 41 first half points while holding EHS to one first down and -27 yards of offense. Enterprise had entered the game on a four-game win streak. Coach Blackmon played every player on his sideline including 13 ninth graders who joined the team after their season ended.
Opelika heads to the play-offs healthy and playing well in all three phases of the game, offense, defense and special teams.

KEYS TO VICTORY
Opelika is the best team. The Dawgs are playing at a high level with a great deal of confidence. Daphne must travel four hours to play, eat two meals on the road, leave school early in the morning and play one of the best teams in Alabama in a strange stadium.
The Trojans have allowed teams to score more on them than normal. Opelika’s offense is averaging 44 points a game while the defense has allows 10 points a game.
The Dawgs will move the football as they usually do.. The defense will play the same. Opelika will win tonight and advance to the second round against the winner of Northview vs Hillcrest. As you remember, we beat  Hillcrest, there, in our opening game.
Opelika will host Hillcrest or travel to Northview, depending on who wins the game.
