AUBURN/OPELIKA — Local marketing firm Here Molly Girl was named Advertising Agency of the Year at the American Advertising Awards Gala held Feb. 28 in Montgomery.
Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the AAF Montgomery’s local contest is the first of a three-tier national competition. Concurrently, across the country, local entrants vie to win an ADDY— recognition as the very best in their markets.
Here Molly Girl’s winning work now goes on to compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards.
In addition to being name Advertising Agency of the Year, Here Molly Girl owner Katy Doss was named Copywriter of the Year, and account executive Shelbie Wallace was named Account Manager of the Year. For their work, Here Molly Girl and sister marketing firm Script Marketing won two Gold ADDYs and two Silver ADDYs. ADDY awards recognize excellence in advertising throughout the U.S. The gold wins include marketing branding elements and a business development promotional box for Script Marketing. The silver wins include the Integrea Mental Health website and a business development box for Here Molly Girl.
“To be named Advertising Agency of the Year is just surreal,” Doss said. “This amazing team works so hard every single day for our clients. We love what we do, and to win awards for it makes it that much better.”
The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. Contestants are judged by a panel of visiting creative professionals from outside the area.
