Franklin Roosevelt Duncan

Franklin Roosevelt Duncan of Opelika, Alabama was born to the late Cephus and Pollie Floyd Duncan on June 23, 1933 in Sycamore, Alabama and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his home in Beauregard, Alabama. He was 83 years of age.
He was retired from the Uniroyal Tire Company where he worked as a Mill Operator for 23 years. Prior to going to work at Uniroyal, he worked at the Pepperell Manufacturing Company in the Dye House for 15 years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Norman Duncan, Aubrey Duncan, Leonard Duncan, Nolan Duncan and two sisters, Margie Browning and Margaret White.
He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 64 years, Frances Rhodes Duncan; one daughter Cathy D. Bradshaw (Joe) of Opelika; and sons, Billy F. Duncan (Melita) of Salem; Larry Duncan (Kathy) of Beauregard; and Ralph P. Duncan (Amy) of Alexander City; 7 grandchildren, Robert Bradshaw (Christy) of Elba; Stephanie Guthrie (Vance) of Opelika; Melody R. Poole (Chris) of Salem; Jonathan P. Duncan (Katherine) of Salem; Heather Evans (Bart) of Opelika; Marianne Duncan of Auburn; John Duncan of Auburn; 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Hanna Stanfield (Felton) of Fort Myers, Florida as well as other nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in the Parlor at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in the Chapel at Frederick-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with pastors, Dr. Rusty Sowell, Dr. Al Jackson, Reverend Jimmy Blanton and Reverend Billy F. Duncan who officiated. Interment followed at Garden Hills Cemetery.
