Acclaimed humorist and motivational speaker Jeanne Robertson will highlight the CDH Foundation’s “2020 Galentine’s Gala” on Feb. 13 at the Bottling Plant Event Center. Robertson, a North Carolina native, is best known for her inclusion on the SiriusXM’s Blue Collar Comedy Channel lineup.
The foundation was created in 2017 after the journey that parents Justin and Jessica Quinn had in helping their daughter Lily overcome her diagnosis of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia doctors discovered during a routine 28-week ultrasound.
Survival was the greatest fight of Lily’s life in the days after her birth, but following a miraculous recovery, she was able to go home with her family only five weeks later.
Another obstacle the Quinns faced was medical expenses, with their insurance company only willing to cover half of their nearly $500,000 hospital bill. However, help came in the form of grant money from another family that covered the remainder of their expenses.
Based on their experience, the Quinns decided to establish a foundation to benefit other families facing the same diagnosis with their children.
Check-in begins at 5 p.m. Guests will be able to enjoy cocktails and shopping, as well as a silent auction. Dinner begins at 6:45 p.m. followed by the program at 7:30 p.m.
Sponsorships and table sponsorships are available. For information on making a silent auction donation or to learn more about sponsorships, contact Amy Wadsworth Register by email at CDH@Sensigreen.com.
Event proceeds will benefit the CDH and NICUnited foundations.
