The good news is… you’ve found the perfect new home.
The bad news is… now you have to move all your stuff into it.
But moving doesn’t have to be such an ordeal if you have the right help, and Wise Guys Moving and Storage is here to serve.
Wise Guys is a residential/commercial moving and storage company in Opelika, owned and managed by Antione Harvis. In business since 2013, the company initially offered labor-only loading and unloading. In 2018, the company went full service, providing assistance at every step of the moving process.
“We own our own trucks, and we offer it all — packing, padding, transport, unloading, unpacking, disassembly and re-assembly,” Harvis said. “We still do labor only, where somebody just needs help to load or unload, and we can move stuff around inside your house or on your property.
“We move heavy items, like safes, pianos, pool tables and hot tubs,” he added. “We’re not just a local moving company. We move people here, away from here, in and out, all across the state.”
Harvis said a higher standard of service is what sets Wise Guys apart from other movers in the area.
“There are a lot of moving companies out there, and we all offer most of the same things,” he said. “But what we hear about the most is our customer service and how professional we are. We want to help people feel less of the stress associated with moving, and we’re going to go that extra mile.”
Harvis said his company stays busy, “but we are ready to take on more jobs.” He said Wise Guys is especially in tune with older clients.
“We are looking at offering more services to the community, such as our senior community, people who may be downsizing or moving to a retirement or assisted living community,” he said. “We think we can serve that part of our community really welland help with some of the transitions they are going through. We want to provide help and assistance and honor to those who are more seasoned.”
Serving others is at the heart of Wise Guys Moving and Storage, according to Harvis’ wife, Raven, who directs the company’s marketing efforts.
“There is a component of the business that provides mentorship, work and ministry,” she said, adding that her husband “doesn’t give himself the credit for most of the things he does in the community.”
Not only does Harvis run the family-owned business, but he also serves the community in two important capacities. He is vice chairman of the Opelika Schools Board of Education and an Elder at Global Impact Church, located at 1107 Crawford Road.
Harvis previously worked with Envision Opelika, and he launched the Dad’s League, a fatherhood program to recognize the hero in every dad. The Dad’s League remains part of the Child Care Resource Center’s mission to promote strong families.
“My work there is what drives some of the heart of what we do as a company, to assist our employees and our community,” Harvis said.
