4-H Virtual Venture for Feb. 25 Birdhouses

Join us over Zoom as we learn all about North American birds and build birdhouses. The cost to participate is $10 and will include all the supplies you will need. Register by Feb. 22 to reserve your spot; only 10 are available.

Call 334-749-3353 to reserve your spot. Once registration closes, a Zoom link will be sent out and birdhouse kits will be picked up at the Lee County Extension Office.

 4-H Camp June 2-4: ( $175.00) Only 24 spots so register ASAP. Must have total payment and all your paperwork to be added to the list. Deadline to register is Feb. 19. Call 334-749-3353 for more information.

East Alabama 4-H Poultry Project 2021:

You must be in 4-H online and between the ages of 9 and 18. Call the Lee County Extension office at 334-749-3353 or email Deborah Stewart at dhs000@auburn.edu. $35 check and reg. form must be turned in by Feb. 26. Please register early due to a scarcity of spots. No late registrations will be accepted.

Land Use Enterprises Webinar:

Extension agents and specialists will discuss some profitable options that landowners might wish to consider or utilize on their property. The target audience is landowners, farmers, investors and absentee landowners. Enterprises to be addressed are: livestock and forages, forestry and wildlife, plant-based enterprises, traditional row crops, hemp enterprises, agritourism opportunities, beekeeping products. ServSafe Class:

Lee County ServSafe Class will be at the Hubbard CASIC Building on Auburn Campus. The Class will be Feb 22 & 23, 2021, starting at 9 a.m. Register at www.aces.edu/go/servsafe. For more information call 334-749-3353.

Private Pesticide Applicator Training Class for Lee County:

Feb. 16, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. You must call 334-749-3353 to register. This class is designed for the farmers who need to take the private pesticide applicator test in order to purchase restricted-use products. However, we will be discussing chemical safety and sprayer calibration at this class, so anyone who sprays pesticides on a large scale will benefit from this training, even if a restricted pesticide license is not needed. A fee of $20 will be charged for this training and testing. An additional licensing fee of $25 will be sent to the Department of Agriculture and Industries by the applicant. The licensing fee is not included in the training and testing fee. Please plan to pay with a check (checks are preferred) made out to the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) in the amount of $20 or with the correct cash amount. Participants must bring and wear a facemask in accordance with COVID guidelines.
