As an Opelika native, 1991 graduate of Opelika High School and an active member of my community, I am so proud to announce my candidacy for Ward 3 City Councilmember. I love Opelika and it has been amazing to watch my city evolve over the years. I am bursting with excitement at the idea of the opportunity to be a part of our future growth as a city and a ward.

I have been coaching Opelika Varsity track and field (state champions) and a member of the Lee-Russell Transportation Board since my return to Opelika but now I look forward to meeting all of my neighbors within Ward 3, sharing my story and hearing your concerns.

My love for people and service did not stop with my 24-year retirement from the Army, although, my years as a drill sergeant, inspector general and recruiter have prepared me for this very moment. I want to extend my hand to you and ask for your vote on Jan. 11, 2022. I’m ready to continue my service to my neighbors and friends in Ward 3 because I understand that people are the biggest asset in our city.

Please keep Councilman, Dr. Robert Lofton and his family lifted in prayer.

Pick up a copy of the Veterans’ Edition of “Live Lee” to read my story.
