O-Grows and Opelika Theatre Company join forces to host Theatre Buds Camp on June 7-11 for children ages 5-17 at the Southside Center for the Arts.
This camp is “where earth meets art” in a unique experience for children to learn more about set design, improv, acting, stage management, musical theatre, scene study, drama, art, costume design and set building.
“Garden designing, much like a theater production is experiential three-dimensional, organic and always growing and changing,” said Andrew Reynolds, O-Grows camp instructor.
Children interested in theatre will have the opportunity to practice their writing, choreography, directing skills and production skills for the showcase will be held on the last day, June 11 from 6-7:30 p.m. for family and friends to attend.
“Creativity and timing are essential to the actor and the gardener,” Reynolds said. “The end goal for both, is to produce an incredible display for others to enjoy.”
Theatre Buds Camp starts each day at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. at 1103 Glenn St., in Opelika.
