CONTRIBUTED BY LCHS

Lee County Humane Society (LCHS) partnered with Bissell Pet Foundation to bring holiday hope to shelter pets in Lee County. The Empty the Shelters Holiday Hope Event will offer reduced fees for adoptable pets from Dec. 6 through Dec. 20. LCHS holiday hope is that all adoptable pets will find forever homes or spend time in a foster home over the holidays so that our shelter will have a “Silent Night” over Christmas.

Empty the Shelters will be hosted in more than 200 shelters in 40 states, Lee County Humane Society included. During this holiday season, people have the opportunity to save a life by choosing adoption or fostering. LCHS currently has one hundred and sixty-five pets in its care. Empty the Shelters adoption special fees will be $5 for altered (spayed or neutered) pets and $55 for unaltered pets. To view adoptable pets, visit www.leecountyhumane.org/adopt. Shoppers can filter the search by age, size, breed and more.

Unable to adopt? Deck the halls with foster paws this holiday season! Fostering a shelter pet saves two lives — the pet fostered and another homeless pet who now has a spot in the shelter. To learn more about becoming a holiday foster for a pet in need, visit www.leecountyhumane.org/foster
