The Opelika High graduation ceremony last Friday night closed the 2015-16 school year.
Almost 300 students received their diplomas on a nice summer evening inside Bulldog Stadium. The athletic department is giving the student/athletes a week off before starting summer workouts.
OPELIKA DIXIE YOUTH ALL-STARS
The Opelika Dixie Youth Baseball organization released the 2016 All-Star Roster last week for Dixie Youth pee-wee teams, Dixie Minor and Dixie Major.
The three teams will compete in the sub-district tournament, district tournament and state tournament.
The teams must win each tournament to advance to the next.

Opelika is scheduled to host the district 5 Dixie Boys tournament starting June 24. The eight-team double elimination tournament will be played at Harrelson Field at the Dixie Boys Complex inside West Ridge Park.
