NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARINGS

TO:  RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CITY OF OPELIKA AND ALL OTHER INTERESTED CITIZENS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Opelika, Alabama will hold a regular meeting and will be conducting public hearings on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers in the Public Works Administrative Building located at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama.  The purpose of the public hearings is to receive public comment on the following:

A public hearing on a request by Chris Calloway for preliminary and final plat approval of Calloway subdivision, consisting of two lots at 4195 Oakbowery Road.

A public hearing on a request by Billy Bryan for preliminary and final plat approval of The Bridge Church subdivision consisting of 2 lots accessed near Highway 29 & Lee Road 270.

A public hearing on a request by Harris Gray LLC for preliminary and final plat approval of Kay Nell Rudd subdivision consisting of 2 lots at  3124 Lee Road 177

A public hearing on a request by Zack Sprayberry for preliminary and final plat approval of  Margaret C. Strickland Estate SD, Redivision of Lot 7 and Lot 1subdivision consisting of 2 lots at 673 Lee Road 177.

A public hearing on a request by Ledge Nettles for preliminary and final plat approval of Crooked Creek Industrial Park subdivision consisting of 2 lots at 900 block of Fox Trail.

A public hearing on a request by Edgar Hughston for preliminary plat approval of Creekstone subdivision, Phase 3, consisting of 57 lots at the 1600 block of Creekstone Drive.

A public hearing on a request by Vic Patel for a conditional use permit for a LaQuinta hotel at the premises (corner lot) located at the premises of 1700 Capps Drive/3151 Capps Way.

A public hearing on a request from Paul Braumett of Gateway Community Church for a conditional use permit for a Church addition at the premises of 2715 Frederick Road.

A public hearing on a request from Anthony Slaughter authorized applicant for Wild Wings Café for a conditional use permit for a restaurant at the premises of 3040 Capps Way.

A public hearing on a request from Stephen Benson for a conditional use permit for a commercial accessory building at the premises of 1619 Thomason Drive.

A public hearing to consider a recommendation to the City Council on the request by Nim Frazier, Capell & Howard P.C. authorized applicant for Industrial Partners, LLC to rezone 18.7 acres located at 1000 Jeter Avenue, 1100 Jeter Avenue, and Lot 4, according to the map of a Re-Subdivision of Lot 6 and a portion of Lot 8, FoxRun Industrial Park, First Revision, First Addition, as recorded in the Office of the Judge of Probate of Lee County, Alabama in Book 13, at Page 60 from a PUD to an M-1 and an M-1, GC zoning district.

All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting/public hearings and be heard.  Written comments concerning the above matters may be mailed to the Planning Director at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama 36801 at any time prior to the meeting/public hearings and may be further submitted to the Planning Commission at the meeting/public hearings.

The Planning Commission reserves the right to modify or alter any of the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and to make its recommendations accordingly to the City Council.
