The Opelika Chiefs continued their winning ways last Saturday afternoon with a solid 46-0 victory over the Atlanta Tigers in Jonesboro, Ga. They’ll be back home at the Beulah High School Stadium Sat, evening, April 2, to take on the Alabama Rottweilers from Elba, Ala.. The Chiefs moved to #4 in the country with their win over the 12th ranked Tigers.
Most Valuable Players for last week’s game were quarterback Kyle Caldwell for the offense and cornerback Ladarius Blackmon for the defense.
Caldwell was 19 of 23 passing for 243 yards and four TDs. He also added 38 yards on the ground in six carries.
Blackmon helped lead that stifling Chiefs defense that caused three turnovers and allowed only 71 total yards.
The Chiefs, now ranked fourth in the APDFL, open division play this week with the Rottweilers. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m., Central Time.
If you want to see some good football, come out to Beulah Saturday night. Remember, it’s only 15 minutes from downtown Opelika.
