Annual event slated for Dec. 9-13

Photo by Robert Noles The 22nd annual Victorian Front Porch Tour will be Dec. 9-13 this year. Every year, 60 homes in Opelika’s Northside Historic District are transformed and decorated with bright colors and magical Christmas figures to remind Opelikans of Christmas from a “simpler era.” The event is a driving tour every night of the five days from 6-9 p.m., except for on Dec. 12 when streets will be closed for a walking tour. Admission is free. Recently, a GoFundMe account was set up to help the production refurbish the decorations and keep the Christmas figures looking as festive as they did 22 years ago. All donations are appreciated. For more information about the event or donations, visit www.OpelikaVictorianFrontPorchTour.com.
