Roy Gene Peacock, age 66, of Opelika, was born on April 15, 1945, in Lee County and passed away at his home on Jan. 9. He was born to the late Coy and Bennie Peacock. He loved his Lord and left here praising Him. A favorite Bible verse of Mr. Peacock was John 15:4 KJV, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine: no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”

Peacock is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue Peacock; sons, Michael (Robyn) Peacock, Ronnie (Rená) Peacock, and Greg “Crash” Peacock; grandchildren, Raegan Peacock, Kendal Peacock, Hope Peacock and Bret Peacock.

Visitation was held on Jan. 10, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fredericks Funeral Home.

A funeral service was held on Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Fredericks Funeral Home. Brother Marshall Dye and Brother Stan Overton officiated. Interment followed at Garden Hills Cemetery. Fredericks Funeral Home directed. www.fredericksfh.com
