Eloise Bowden Betts Guy passed away peacefully at home on the 3rd day of November, 2017. She was born on November 8, 1931 in Beulah, Alabama.
After graduating from Opelika High School she married the late Bill Lamar Guy and at his death had celebrated 64 years of marriage. She worked at Haynie’s Drug Store, Dr. Gunter, DMD’s office and retired from AmSouth Bank after 39 years of service.
She deeply loved her family and friends, enjoyed working in her flower gardens and made the best biscuits in Lee County. She was a wonderful example of Christian faith and she woke every morning with prayers of thankfulness for God’s gift of life, love and family.
She is survived by her three daughters Kathy Guy Pollard (Bill), Kay Guy Funderburk (Darrel), Kim Guy Doss; grandchildren Christy Ledbetter, Ashley Barnes, Brian Holley, Katie Sellers, Rebecca Doss, Tiffany Clay, and Brandi Howell; ten great grandchildren; and sister Dot Smyth.
Visitation was Monday, November 6 at 10am at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 11am. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial gifts be given to Habitat For Humanity of Opelika, 605 2nd Ave. Opelika, AL 36801
