A graveside service for Arthur Eugene Ruff, age 58, of Opelika was held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7, in Garden Hills Cemetery. Reverend David Warren officiated. Visitation was held on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Ruff was born on April 23, 1953, in Opelika. He passed away at his home on Jan. 4, 2012.
Ruff attended Trinity United Methodist Church, served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at Tecmanics Diesel in Columbus, Ga. He was a Hardrock Shooter.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Ruff of Opelika; son, Seth (Jessica) Ruff of Opelika; daughter, Christy Stevens of Opelika; two brothers, James “Sandy” (Hope) Sanders of Phenix City, Ira J. Ruff, II of Opelika; sister, Loretta S. Kline of Opelika; parents, Ira J. and Alice Ruff of Opelika; grandson, Jayden Walters of Opelika; brother-in-law, Steve (Lisa) Tucker of Lafayette; two sisters -in-law, Robin (Whit) Bradley of Valley,Cindy (Thomas Bo) Smith of Waverly; and godson, Brycen Luis of Opelika.
