CONTRIBUTED BY CITY OF OPELIKA
OPELIKA — Opelika manufacturer Pharmavite will invest more than $13 million of additional capital into its facility to support its growth.
Pharmavite is a nutrition-powered wellness company dedicated to helping people live healthier, more vital lives through its portfolio of brands — Nature Made, Bonafide, Equelle, MegaFood and Uqora.
As the leading national vitamin and supplement broadline brand, Nature Made’s comprehensive lineup of high-quality vitamins and supplements includes gummies that are manufactured in its Opelika facility, which first opened its doors in 2013, creating 280 new jobs. Since then, Pharmavite has invested more than $173 million into the facility and has grown its local workforce to more than 600 employees.
“Pharmavite’s continued investment in Opelika is a testament to the strength of our business community and the high quality of our workforce,” said Mayor Gary Fuller. “We are proud to support a company that is not only creating jobs but also making a positive impact on the health and wellness industry. We look forward to seeing their continued success in our city.”
“We’re honored to continue building on our commitment to the city of Opelika through this investment, which will contribute to Pharmavite’s continued growth by supporting our hundreds of employees in the local area,” said Solanda Prather, director of operations. “Pharmavite has been committed to the vitality of the region for more than a decade and looks forward to continuing to be a part of the Opelika community in the years to come, with help from Mayor Fuller, the city council and the Opelika Economic Development team.”
“Pharmavite has been a valued part of Opelika’s business landscape for over a decade, and this latest investment reinforces their long-term commitment to our community,” said City Council President Eddie Smith. “We appreciate their trust in Opelika and remain dedicated to fostering an environment where businesses like Pharmavite can thrive.”
“Pharmavite is a great community partner,” said Opelika Economic Development Director John Sweatman. “The fact that they continue to invest and grow here in Opelika reflects positively on our highly-skilled workforce and our positive business climate.”
