Auburn-Opelika’s very own 22-year-old Kelly Hutchinson was crowned Miss Alabama USA at the Gogue Performing Arts Center in Auburn on Saturday night.
A senior at Auburn University, Hutchinson is a communications major with a minor in marketing and plans on obtaining a law degree. At Auburn, Kelly was a member of the Auburn Tiger Paws dance team and served Auburn Panhellenic as a cabinet member for two years. She is a member of multiple honor societies. Kelly has a passion for serving her community by donating her time to support and raise funds for the American Cancer Society.
The crowning was the culmination of two days of competition held at the newly opened Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center on the campus of Auburn University. The production theme centered around 80s music and attire in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the founding of RPM Productions.
Kelly will spend the next several months making appearances and preparing to represent Alabama on a national level in the Miss USA next year.
