Join Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers and John Emerald Distilling Company as we host Auburn alum-turned-bestselling-author Ace Atkins for an evening of conversation and cocktails on July 22.

Atkins will be sitting down with his good friend and Voice of the Auburn Tigers, Andy Burcham, to discuss his novel, The Heathens, the latest book in his popular Quinn Colson series. We wouldn’t be surprised if Atkins and Burcham cover some SEC football in their conversation as well. Atkins is a New York Times bestselling author, but before that he was part of the Auburn Tigers’ undefeated 1993 season. In fact, he sacked Florida quarterback Danny Wuerffel three times in Auburn’s 38-35 win over the fourth-ranked Gators that season.

The conversation with Atkins and Burcham will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at John Emerald Distilling Company. Tickets include a cocktail, a signed copy of The Heathens and the chance to mingle and chat with Atkins and Burcham.

To purchase tickets, visit www.auburnoilbooksellers.com/events/cocktails-conversation-with-ace-atkins/ or call Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers at 334-246-3003.

Founded in October 2019, Auburn Oil Co. Booksellers is an independent bookstore in Auburn. The store features a specially curated selection of books, card and gifts as well as custom-made drinks. Its namesake pays homage to a family business from a time when a gas station was a filling station, a place where you knew each other, where someone came out to your car to fill up your tank, clean your windshield and catch up a bit. At AOCB, customers can know a friendly face, fill their brain and belly and maybe see a little better when they leave.
