MAVIS BELL
Mrs. Mavis Bell, 88, of LaFayette, died Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at her residence.
She was born May 8, 1937, in Meriwether County, Georgia, to the late Thomas Morgan and the late Della Ross Morgan.
Mrs. Bell was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
She retired from Russell Corp. after 20 years of service. Prior to that she worked at Playtex.
Mrs. Bell is survived by three sons, Thomas Roy (Pinky) Bell of Ocean Springs; Terry Michael (Robin) Bell of Douglasville, Georgia; and Troy Cecil Bell of LaFayette; five grandchildren David Strickland; Scotty Bell; Dimere Crute; Desmond Crute and Kaitlin Bell; and two great-grandchildren Daisy and Zane.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Aubrey Eggleton; and sister Annie Pearl Sherrer.
Service will be held Saturday, May 31 at 1 p.m. CST at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. John Clark officiating. Burial will follow at LaFayette City Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church prior to the service.
