LEE COUNTY — Football season is back, and teams across Lee County are returning to the gridiron as they prepare for another fall under the Friday night lights.
In Opelika, the Bulldogs helped kick off the season Friday, Aug. 14, with the annual Meet the Bulldogs event at Bulldog Stadium. Athletes from Opelika High School and Opelika Middle School participating in football, cheer, flag football, volleyball, cross country and swimming were introduced to the community during the event.
As teams across the area get back on the field, The Observer is also bringing you a weekly high school football picks contest, giving readers a chance to make their selections and compete for bragging rights throughout the season.
