OPELIKA — This July, Opelika Community Theatre (OCT) invites the community to experience mystery, music and unforgettable live theatre with two exciting events that showcase the creativity and talent our community has come to expect over the past 11 years.
- “Opelika’s Got Talent — The Next Big Thing”
One of OCT’s most popular fundraising events is making its return — An interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre fundraiser.
Join OCT for an evening of mystery, laughter, audience participation and outstanding food as “Opelika’s Got Talent – The Next Big Thing” comes to life once again.
Guests will enjoy a delicious three-course dinner catered by Butcher Paper BBQ while trying to solve a murder that takes place during Opelika’s biggest talent competition. Throughout the evening, audience members will gather clues, question suspects and compete to identify the killer before the exciting final reveal.

Doors Open: 6:30 p.m.
One of the most exciting features of this production is that the murderer changes each night, giving guests the opportunity to return for a completely different mystery and ending.
Whether you’re planning a date night, celebrating with friends or simply looking for a unique evening out, this interactive dinner theatre promises great food, plenty of laughs and an unforgettable experience.

Auditions Announced for Disney’s “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”
OCT is also excited to announce auditions for its fall production of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, directed by Emma Knott.
Audition dates
- July 16 and 17
6 to 9 p.m. - Callbacks (by invitation only) — Saturday, July 18 at 2 p.m.
The production offers outstanding opportunities for performers, musicians, and volunteers to become part of one of musical theatre’s most powerful and beloved productions.
