As part of Wreaths Across America’s national initiative, Wreaths Across America Day, members of the Opelika community traveled to Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Russell County on Dec. 16 to lay wreaths on the gravestones of fallen veterans. Every year, Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying efforts at more than 3,700 locations across the U.S., at sea and abroad. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office provided an escort to Ft. Mitchell.
