OPELIKA — AGS America Inc., a leading manufacturer in the automotive industry, is set to further expand its presence in Opelika with an additional investment of nearly $3.6 million in new advanced manufacturing equipment. This expansion will enhance the company’s manufacturing and assembly operations for automotive components, creating 70 new jobs in the process.

“AGS America is excited to continue its growth in Opelika and invest in the future of our company and community,” said CEO Jin Kim. “This expansion represents our commitment to innovation and excellence in automotive manufacturing. We are grateful for the continued support of the City of Opelika and look forward to the positive impact this project will have, both in terms of job creation and enhanced production capabilities.”

“We are incredibly fortunate to have industries that not only choose to stay in our community but continue to grow and invest in our future,” added Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller. “Their expansion brings new opportunities, strengthens our local economy and enhances the quality of life for our residents.”

“When industries thrive, our entire community benefits,” said City Council President Eddie Smith. “We are grateful for the businesses that continue to call Opelika home, creating jobs, fostering innovation and contributing to the prosperity of our city.”

“The overall economic health of our community is greatly measured by the growth and reinvestments made by our existing companies,” said Opelika Economic Development Director John Sweatman. “We are very fortunate to have AGS America located here in Opelika and greatly appreciate their ongoing investments and the good paying jobs they continue to create.”

The additions to AGS America Inc. are expected to be completed by December 2025.
