NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Opelika will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 204 S. 7th Street, Opelika, Lee County, Alabama.
PURPOSE
The purpose of said Public Hearing will be to consider the adoption of an ordinance to amend Ordinance Number 124-91 (entitled “Zoning Ordinance of the City of Opelika”) adopted on September 17, 1991 and the Zoning Map of the City of Opelika provided for and referred to therein. At said Public Hearing all who desire to be heard shall have the opportunity to speak for or in opposition to the adoption of the following ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING
ORDINANCE AND ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF OPELIKA
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council (the “City Council”) of the City of Opelika, Alabama (the “City”) as follows:
Section 1. That Ordinance No. 124-91 entitled “Zoning Ordinance of the City of Opelika” adopted on September 17, 1991, and the Zoning Map of the City of Opelika provided for and referred to therein, as previously amended and/or modified, be and the same is hereby amended by rezoning or redistricting the parcels of land hereinafter in this section described from one class of district to another class of district as follows:
From a R-3, GC District (Low-Density Residential, Gateway Corridor Overlay District) to a C-2, GC District (Office/Retail, Gateway Corridor Overlay District), the parcels of land hereinafter described:
PARCEL 1
Commence at Southwest corner of Section 15, Township 19 North, Range 26 East, Opelika, Lee County, Alabama, thence North 84°37’46” East, a distance of 855.42 feet to the point of beginning of a parcel of land more fully described as follows: From this point of beginning, thence North 52°43’57” East, a distance of 192.58 feet; thence South 50°59’55” East, a distance of 128.47 feet; thence South 39°04’49” West, a distance of 229.41 feet; thence North 37°18’55” West, a distance of 178.94 feet to the point of beginning, said parcel contains 31,966.2 square feet, or 0.73 acres, more or less.
PARCEL 2
Commence at Southwest corner of Section 15, Township 19 North, Range 26 East, Opelika, Lee County, Alabama, thence North 84°37’46” East, a distance of 855.42 feet, thence South 37°18’55” East, a distance of 164.67 feet to the point of beginning of a parcel of land more fully described as follows: From this point of beginning, thence South 37°18’55” East, a distance of 14.27 feet; thence South 46°38’21” West, a distance of 419.64 feet; thence North 35°44’35” West, a distance of 14.94 feet; thence North 46°43’26” East, a distance of 419.16 feet to the point of beginning, said parcel contains 6,081.9 square feet, or .014 acres, more or less.
The above-described parcels are further described as 2004 Yarbrough Drive, Opelika, AL
Section 2. Any ordinance or part thereof in conflict with provisions of this Ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be published on se (1) time in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Opelika, Lee County, Alabama.
