BEN LEWIS LANGLEY

Ben Lewis Langley, a beloved member of the Ridge Grove Community, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, peacefully at the Compassus Bethany House in Auburn. He was born on March 19, 1938, in Ridge Grove, Alabama, to the late Lewis and Catherine Langley. Ben graduated from Lafayette High School in 1956 and honorably served his country in the Army from 1960 to 1962.
Ben was a man of diverse talents and interests. He was a businessman, running the local county store for several years before transitioning to farming, where he raised cattle and managed timber. A member of County Line Baptist Church, Ben was a man of faith and community. He cherished his time spent with family and found joy in the simple pleasures of life: his cows, a Dr. Pepper Zero and his faithful dog, Baby.
Ben was preceded in death by his brother Scott Langley (wife, the late Doris); his nephew Curtis Langley (wife, Victoria); and his niece Pam Burgess. He is survived by his brother Mac Langley (wife, the late Barbara); his sister Jeanette Rollins (husband, the late James); and his nieces and nephews Thomas Langley (wife, the late Terri), Cathy McCoy (husband, Skip), Chris Langley (wife, Elizabeth), Mitchell Langley (wife, Michelle), Allyson Matthews (husband, Richard), Phillip Langley (wife, Teresa), Mark Langley (wife, LaDonna), Randall Rollins (wife, Shelia), Tammy Lovvorn (husband, Jay) and Richie Rollins.
A one-hour viewing for family will be held at Jeff Jones Funeral Home on Friday, April 18. A graveside service, open to all friends and family, will follow at 2 p.m. at Lafayette Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to County Line Baptist Church. Ben will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

JAMES HAROLD WHITE
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, James Harold White, on April 12, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on Sept. 5, 1934, Harold lived a life marked by quiet strength, unwavering faith and deep love for his family and community. Known affectionately by many as Daddy, Granddaddy, Uncle Harold or simply Harold, he leaves behind a lasting legacy.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 59 years, Ellen Owen White; his parents Bertha and Fannie Bell White; brothers Wilson, Junior and Royce White; sisters Gayle Pyles, Clara Nell Mickle and Zelma Lamb; grandson Gabriel Gillespie; and son-in-law Tim Gillespie.
Harold is survived by his loving children TimWhite of LaFayette, David (Diane) White of LaFayette, Cammie (Paul) Hester of LaFayette, Steve (Kristin) White of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Stephanie Gillespie of Knoxville, Tennessee.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren Crystal (Scotty) Rushton, Ryan (Liz) White, Haley White, Zack (Amber) Hester, Hannah Bunn, Carter White, Nate Gillespie, Luke White, Caroline White, Jake Gillespie and Anna Claire White.
His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Kobe and Klayton Rushton,David and Camp White, Bentley and Baylor Hester, Owen and Oakley Sanders, and one treasured great-great-grandchild, Ada Grace Rushton.
He also leaves behind his brother Larry (Mary) White of Opelika and many beloved nieces and nephews and their families. Among them, Brenda Murray and her son, Ronald, who lived directly below him, held a particularly special place in his heart. Ronald, who lovingly referred to him as their precious Uncle Harold, often checked in on him, as did Brenda. Their constant care and presence meant the world to him. The family would like to extend a special thank you to both of them as he loved them dearly.
Harold began his lifelong career at Tallapoosa River Electric Cooperative (TREC) in 1956 extending 40 years retiring in 1996. He started as a lineman andworking his way up to foreman through unmatched dedication and skill. TREC was more than a workplace, it was a second home. He formed close bonds with many, especially Mr. Herman Hand and Mr. Frank Burton, and was respected for his impeccable work ethic and steady leadership.
Within the LaFayette community, Harold was also known for his years of service as a LaFayette Little League umpire, recognized for his distinct and enthusiastic strike calls that brought smiles to many.
A man of deep faith, Harold was a devoted member of LaFayette Heights Baptist Church, faithfully attending both morning and evening services in his later years. His love for the Lord and his church family grew deeper with time and remained steadfast throughout his life.
Harold also had a passion for his home, taking exceptional pride in his yard. He was well known for maintaining a beautifully kept lawn, which stood as a reflection of the love and care he poured into everything he did.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at LaFayette Heights Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 3:30 p.m.,with the Revs. Dave Bearden and Paul Howard officiating. Burial will follow at LaFayette City Cemetery.

CYNTHIA DEAN GILL
Cynthia Dean Gill 72, of Opelika, died Thursday, April 10, 2025 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 6, 1952, in Americus, Georgia, to the late Allen Dean and Mozelle Robinson Dean. She was a member of the LaFayette Heights Baptist Church.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 12, at the LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Dave Bearden officiating.
She is survived by her mother Mozelle Robinson Dean, son Larry Dean (Cathy) and their three chidren; daughters Christie Neiswinger and Janice (Larry) Thrower, their 3 children. Online condolences may be sent to jeffjonesfuneralhome.com.

ROSE LEE CLARK
Rose Lee Clark, 84, of Wadley died Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Goodwater Healthcare Center, Goodwater, Alabama. Funeral services was held on Thursday, April 10, located at Pine Flat Primitive Baptist Church, 194 Co. Rd. 892, Wedowee, Alabama, with Elder Thomas Knight officiating. The interment was in Canaan Missionary Baptist Church cemetery, located at 2738 Co. Rd. 815, in Wedowee.
Clark is survived by a devoted daughter Vickie Regina Clark Cook, of Montgomery; two sisters Ethel Patton of Decatur, Georgia, and Carolyn Stewart of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
