Opelika Main Street’s “Christmas in a Railroad Town,” sponsored by Kia of Auburn, will return to downtown Opelika for a 24th year on Dec. 13.
This family-friendly, child-oriented event will include free activities ranging from arts and crafts and petting zoos to live music and visits with Santa. Merchants will offer extended late-night shopping hours for visitors and there will be train rides throughout downtown.
According to Director Ken Ward, there will be a number of new activities that will be unveiled that evening, part of an event he said is a cornerstone of Opelika’s Christmas season.
“This is Opelika’s signature Christmas event, and this year’s version will be bigger and better than ever. It’s a great way to spend a Friday night and enjoy the holiday season,” Ward said.
