MVPs

The Opelika Chiefs won their second game of the season, 46-8, over the Prattville Patriots last Saturday night. The Chiefs were ranked no. 7 in the APDFL while the Patriots were ranked no. 12. The Chiefs moved up to no. 5 in the league after the victory. The Chiefs play at home (the Beulah High School Stadium) March 19, at 7 p.m.
The Chiefs’ defense once more dominated the game with Prattville, scoring three touchdowns, one on an interception return. Linebacker Henley Hughes was the game MVP for the defense with five tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles.
Latrell Jenkins was selected offensive MVP. Jenkins carried the ball five times for 86 yards and a touchdown. He also had a 44-yard pass reception for a touchdown.
The Chiefs’ opponent this week is the Tuscaloosa Panthers. Come out to Beulah Stadium and see some exciting football.
