The Opelika Chamber is hosting “Lunch at the Chamber,” a weekly food truck and pop-up vendor event held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Monday at 200 S. 6th St., Opelika.

TUESDAYS IN THE GARDEN
Tuesdays in the Garden will take place at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 136 E. Magnolia Ave., Auburn, from 2 to 4 p.m. each Tuesday. All are welcome to drop by St. Dunstan’s, enter the beautiful garden and relax and enjoy its beauty. Seating will be provided. St. Dunstan’s has one of the last green-space areas in downtown Auburn. Thomas Joyner, rector at St. Dunstan’s and all its members warmly welcome everyone into our beautiful space that God has provided.
ONGOING — STREET CORNER JAM
Every Friday night in June, July and August MARIA Jewelers, located at 231 S. 8th St., in downtown Opelika, will be hosting an evening of free music and jamming from 6 until 8:30 or 9 p.m in front of the business (inside on rainy days). The event is open and free to everyone — any musician or singer, beginner or semi-pro, is encouraged to come perform. Performers must bring their own portable instrument and any power equipment needed — microphones, a mixer and power amp with large speakers will be supplied as well as about eight folding chairs furnished for musicians and about 25 to 30 for audience members. All music genres such as country, jazz, pop and more, are welcome. Please no rap and nothing with vulgar language. Order will be random as long as everyone gets chances to play or sing. Singo Bingo will be held at 7 p.m. each Wednesday in July at Whistle Stop Bottle and Brew, 830 N. Railroad Ave. Themes include Party Starters Vol. 7 on July 1, Country Bar Vol. 1 on July 8, Classic Rock Vol. 1 on July 15, Golden Oldies Vol. 1 on July 22 and Singo for the Swifties on July 29. The series benefits the Opelika Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program.
NOW THROUGH AUG. 29 — CITY MARKET RETURNS TO TOWN CREEK PARK
City Market will return for the 2026 season beginning Saturday, May 23, at Town Creek Park and will continue each Saturday through Aug. 29 from 8 to 11 a.m. (excluding July 4). The market features fresh produce, locally made goods, handcrafted items, live music and children’s activities. JULY 11 — FLOAT-IN MOVIE NIGHT: “NATIONAL TREASURE”
Celebrate summer and America’s 250th anniversary with a special float-in movie night at Samford Pool. Doors open at 7:45 p.m., and the movie begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $5 or free with an All-Inclusive Parks & Recreation membership.
JULY 16 — BLUES & BOIL SUPPER CLUB
The Sound Wall in Opelika will host its Blues & Boil Supper Club on Thursday, July 16, featuring live music by The John Bull Trio and a coursed Southern-inspired dinner prepared by Chef Chris Wilton. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and dinner begins at 7 p.m. Communal chef’s table seating will be available in The Sound Wall’s studio space.The menu will include a charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, deviled eggs, pickled vegetables, bread and crackers; Southern pepper coleslaw; and a main course featuring shrimp, Conecuh sausage, andouille sausage, Brussels sprouts, corn, potatoes, mushrooms and sweet onions. The meal will be served with Old Bay tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and jalapeño cheddar biscuits. Banana pudding will be served for dessert. Guests may bring their own wine or beer. Glassware, water and ice will be provided. A Sip-n-Support Bar will also be available, with proceeds benefiting The Sound Wall Music Initiative. The Sound Wall is located in Opelika. JULY 12-16 — KEEPERS OF THE KINGDOM VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
The 10th Street Church of Christ will host “Keepers of the Kingdom” Vacation Bible School July 12-16 at 500 N. 10th St. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. for children and volunteers, followed by VBS from 6 to 8 p.m.
JULY 16-17 — “THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME” AUDITIONS
Opelika Community Theatre will hold auditions for “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” from 6 to 9 p.m. July 16-17. Callbacks will be held by invitation only at 2 p.m. July 18. Online submissions are also accepted by emailing a one-minute monologue and a song to opelikatheatrecompany1@gmail.com.

The Opelika Public Library’s Food for Thought Friday Summer Movie Series will feature “National Treasure” at 7 p.m. The free screening is presented in partnership with the Opelika Chamber of Commerce, Opelika Main Street and the city of Opelika.
JULY 18 — GSEA WRITERS WORKSHOP
The Genealogical Society of East Alabama will present its “Sharing Their Stories” writers workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Meeting Room A at the Opelika Public Library, 1100 Glenn St. The free workshop is designed for beginning writers and those interested in genealogy and local history. Topics will include writing tips, genealogical resources, local historical resources and the editorial process. Seating is limited.
JULY 20 — THE LONG SHOT CLASSIC
The Long Shot Classic will be held July 20 at the Auburn University Golf Club. The tournament will benefit the Alabama Head Injury Foundation in honor of Collin Long.
JULY 24 — DINO-MITE DANCE PARTY
The Opelika Public Library will celebrate the conclusion of its summer reading program with a Dino-Mite Dance Party featuring DJ Ozz at 4 p.m. The event is open to all ages.
JULY 25 AND 26 — CRAFTERNOONS
Join CRAFTERNOONS, hosted by Ariel Ryberg of Studio 344, for an ACEO class for beginners on July 25 and 26, 2026, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Family Roots Garden Center. For $45, participants will create artist’s cards, editions and originals and receive coffee, tea and a beginner ACEO kit to take home. No experience required; maximum of 10 students per class.
JULY 27 — LOACHAPOKA HIGH SCHOOL GOLF CLASSIC

JULY 30-AUG. 1 — PIERRE BENSUSAN SOUTHEASTERN GUITAR MASTERY RETREAT
The Sound Wall in Opelika will host internationally acclaimed fingerstyle guitarist Pierre Bensusan for a three-day immersive guitar retreat from Thursday, July 30, through Saturday, Aug. 1. The retreat will include 18 hours of hands-on instruction focused on fingerstyle technique, tone, phrasing, rhythm, creativity and musical expression. Topics will include right- and left-hand techniques, harmony, chord voicings, fretboard fluency, harmonics, tapping and ornamentation. Instruction will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday; 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Bensusan will also perform in concert Friday, July 31. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Enrollment is limited to allow participants more personal instruction and detailed feedback. Greater Peace Community Development Corporation will host “A Purple Reign Affair” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Greater Peace Family Life Center, 650 Jeter Ave. The event will honor state Rep.
