JERRY CROWDER

Mr. Jerry Crowder, 70, of Lanett, died Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at his residence in Lanett.
He was born July 7, 1954, in Langdale, Alabama, to the late Clyde and Barbara Crowder.
Jerry was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Lanett.
Jerry was a graduate of Valley High School and Nashville Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee. He was an ASE certified diesel mechanic. He worked at Diversified Products in Opelika for many years and retired from Wal-Mart Distribution Center in LaGrange, Georgia.
He enjoyed gardening, cooking, eating and sharing his wealth of knowledge with anyone that would listen. Jerry was known for his love of whistling. He would whistle at home, after church, in the car, on the porch and even down the aisles of Kroger. His favorite memories were spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. On Tuesday nights you could find him playing dominoes with some of his favorite friends. Jerry was quite the character. He took pleasure in making people laugh by telling jokes and funny stories. These stories may or may not have been the truth.
Mr. Crowder is survived by his wife Susan Crowder of Lanett; two daughters Alyson (Matt) Sims and Lindsey (Ron) Sellers; sister Jeannie (Doyle) Yarbrough; brother-in-law Jeff Jones; sister-in-law Brenda Harrelson; grandchildren, Jayden Sims, Jace Sims, Coleman Sellers, Hudson Sellers and Sage Sellers; and honorary brother Sam Bradford.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A service was held Sunday, June 8, at Providence Baptist Church in Lanett, with the Revs. Mitchell Hamilton, Ken Overby and Brad Reed officiating. Burial followed at LaFayette City Cemetery.
