AUBURN-OPELIKA — Join the Austin 1st Foundation for the 4th annual Aces Fore Austin Charity Golf Scramble at the Lakes Course at Robert Trent Jones Grand National Monday, May 18. The event is being held in memory of Anthony and Lindsey Terling’s son Austin, who was born with a very rare genetic brain condition (UBA5 Gene Mutation). This event is more than just a day on the greens, it’s a mission-driven tournament that has donated $101,000 since 2023, with a dedication to raising awareness and research dollars to support families in Alabama and beyond affected by rare diseases.
“We are deeply honored by the outpouring of support from local, statewide and national communities,” said Lindsey and Anthony Terling, co-founders of the Austin 1st Foundation. “Aces Fore Austin is more than a golf tournament; it’s a way to carry Austin’s legacy forward and bring hope to families walking a rare disease journey we know firsthand. Thanks to our supporters, the third annual Aces donated $47,000 to advance critical research and support families affected by rare disease. This year, we aim to make an even greater impact.”
One in 10 Americans suffer from a rare disease, including over 400,000 Alabamians, and 90% of the conditions are not treatable with FDA-approved measures.
