AUBURN — Lee-Scott Academy stunned Reeltown with a gritty 28–25 road win Friday, Oct. 31, handing the Rebels their first home loss of the season.
In a battle between two strong programs, the Warriors relied on disciplined defense and red-zone efficiency to secure the victory.
Reeltown entered the matchup unbeaten at home and powered by a high-scoring offense led by running back Traylen Roberts, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns to keep the Rebels within striking distance. But Lee-Scott’s defense bent without breaking, making critical stops when it mattered most.
Brooks Zachry led the Warriors’ offense with 67 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His steady presence and ability to find the end zone helped Lee-Scott capitalize on limited opportunities.
The game featured several momentum swings, with both teams trading scores. Reeltown appeared poised to take control late in the fourth quarter, but Zachry came up with a key interception to deny the Rebels a final scoring chance and seal the win.
The victory marked a defining moment for Lee-Scott’s season. Not only did the Warriors topple a formidable opponent on the road, but they also showcased the grit and execution that bode well for postseason play.
Lee-Scott (8–2) will host Hale County in the first round of the AHSAA playoffs Friday at Jud Scott Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m., and tickets are available at gofan.co.
