Local artists invited to submit works for May InvitationalExhibition: Color in the Garden

AUBURN — Professional, student and amateur artists and craft persons are invited to submit two new or recent theme-reflected original works for possible inclusion in the 2025 May Invitational Exhibition: Color in The Garden. Artists must be 18 years of age or older.


Works may be two or three dimensional in any style (realistic, abstract, geometric, painterly, etc.) and in any medium, including photographic and digital. Color emphasis, compositions, materials, subject matter, including types/kinds of gardens and things found in gardens are open to personal interpretation.


Work Display Requirements


All 2D works must be framed. Works on paper must be matted (or mounted) and framed. Frames should have Plexiglas (no glass) and be correctly wired for hanging. They may also be presented in wired frames without Plexiglas. Canvas works must be gallery-wrapped. Free-hanging wall pieces and unframed works must have appropriate hanging means. Sculptures, ceramics, constructions, found objects, art made for/from a garden and all other free-standing works must be stable. All 3-D wall pieces must have adequate hanging means. Labels attached to the work should include name, address, phone, email, title and price if for sale.


Entries may be dropped off at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (222 E. Drake Ave.) on Tuesday, May 6, or Wednesday, May 7, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. There is no entry fee. Works may be listed for sale. Please note, not all entries may be accepted for inclusion. A public reception will be held during the exhibition.
