The Alabama Sports Writers Association’s 2020-21 All-State Basketball teams and honorable mentions were released Sunday, with a number of area girls and boys making the cut.

Each of the seven AHSAA classifications and the AISA include a first, second and third team, as well as honorable mentions. Nominees came from statewide basketball coaches and honorees were voted on by the ASWA prep committee.

Area teams saw plenty of success in 2020-21. The Glenwood girls won the AISA Class AAA state championship and the Auburn High boys and girls played in the state semifinals in the AHSAA 6A classification.

Two more players made third team and four were named honorable mentions.

Third team: Auburn High’s Syriah Daniels (Fr., G, 6-0) and Glenwood’s Ethan Craw (Sr., F, 6-4).
