A funeral service for Shirley Faye Stough, 82, of Opelika, was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Senior Pastor Larry Doster is officiating. Interment was at Reeltown Cemetery at 1 p.m.

 Mrs. Stough passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in Auburn.

Shirley was a proud cosmetologist for over 40 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Opelika and was blessed with many friends and neighbors. She loved sharing God’s Word with children, was an avid artist, and enjoyed many afternoons with her coffee club girls.

Mrs. Stough is preceded in death by her husband Frank E. Stough, Jr., three sisters: Geneva Abercrombie, Margaret Bond and Brenda Sue Blackmon and two brothers: Bud Blackmon and Willie Blackmon.

She is survived by two daughters: Connie Stough Baker (Tony) of Opelika and Tanya Stough Alongi (Robert, Jr.) of Huntsville, Alabama, four grandchildren: James Baker (Mechelle), Lauren, Robert III and Courtney Alongi, three great-grandchildren: Eli, Raylan and Kaitelyn Baker, two brothers: Bobby Blackmon (Pat) and Jerry Blackmo and many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Angels Foundation in Auburn, or to the Alzheimer’s Association (Alabama Chapter).
