Congressman Mike Rogers announced today his office will host its first Third Congressional District 2020 Congressional Application (App) Challenge.

The Congressional App Challenge was established by the House of Representatives in 2014 and is a competition aimed at encouraging middle and high school students to code by creating their own applications. It is intended to highlight the value of computer science and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

“Technology is so important in our daily lives and I am pleased to participate in this year’s challenge that should inspire our young folks across East Alabama to use their skills to create their own apps. I look forward to seeing what our bright students submit later this year,” Rogers said.

The competition is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience. To learn more about the competition or to submit an app, visit the website at www.CongressionalAppChallenge.us.
