AUBURN — Christ Methodist Church of Auburn will present gospel music artist CeCe Winans in concert Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Bill and Carol Ham Amphitheatre at the Gogue Performing Arts Center. Tickets start at $25.
Winans is the best-selling and most awarded female gospel artist of all time, with 17 Grammy Awards, 33 Dove Awards and 16 Stellar Awards.
Her recent releases, “Believe For It” and “More Than This,” are her first two live recordings and feature some of the most recognized songs in contemporary Christian music.
Winans is also the author of four books: “Believe For It: Passing On Faith To The Next Generation,” “On A Positive Note,” “Throne Room: Ushered Into the Presence of God” and “Always Sisters: Becoming the Princess You Were Created to Be,” co-written with Claire Cloninger.
In addition to performing and speaking at conferences and events around the world, Winans has appeared on national television programs including “Today,” “Good Morning America,” “Oprah” and “American Idol.” She has also appeared as an actress in several television programs.
Music has long been a family tradition for Winans, one of 10 siblings. Her parents and siblings have released music under several names, including Mom and Pop Winans, The Winans and BeBe & CeCe, her duo with brother Benjamin Winans.
Winans and her husband, Alvin Love II, are founding pastors of Nashville Life Church, where their son, Alvin Love III, serves as lead pastor. Winans has two adult children, Alvin and Ashley, and four grandchildren.
Dr. Tony McCullough, senior pastor of Christ Methodist Church of Auburn, invited the community to attend the concert.
