AUBURN — The Auburn School Board approved multiple construction and bid results for Plains High School and Plains Junior High School at its July 14 meeting. The schools are slated to be complete in fall 2028.
The board approved the bid results for Plains Junior High School, which will be constructed by Stone Building LLC, based in Westavia Hills, Alabama. The board also approved the final closeout of Plains High School’s final site package.
In other business:
- The board voted to approve the minutes from the meeting on June 9.
- The board voted to approve the financial statements and cash reconciliation for June.
- The board voted to approve HPM construction to add fresh turf to Auburn High School practice fields.
- The board voted to approve the additions and alterations owner architect agreement to improve track and football concessions buildings at Auburn High School.
- The board voted to approve the bid results for the Large Equipment for Child Nutrition Program, which will be supplied by Singer H&R in Northport, Alabama for $667,000.
- The board voted to approve the 2026-27 salary schedule, which includes a 2% raise for staff.
- The board read the description for a junior system administrator, and it was placed on the August meeting agenda.
- The board voted to approve the personnel recommendations.
Announcements: - There will be a breakfast for new teachers on July 28 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Cary Woods Elementary School.
- Institute Day for faculty and staff is set for Aug. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Gogue Performing Arts Center.
- There will be an Alabama Association of School Boards District 4 meeting on Aug. 17 in Montgomery.
- There will be a board work session for fiscal year 2027 budget on Aug. 25 at 8:30 a.m. at the CO Professional Learning Room at Auburn Junior High School.
- There will be a fiscal year 2027 public budget hearing No. 1 on Sept. 1 at 8:30 a.m. at the CO Professional Learning Room at Auburn Junior High School.
- There will be a fiscal year 2027 public budget hearing No. 2 on Sept. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the CO Professional Learning Room at Auburn Junior High School
The next Auburn School Board meeting will be Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Auburn Junior High School Multi-Media Room.
