OPELIKA — This summer, Chloe Floyd of Opelika will join outstanding students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, National Youth Leadership Forum’s Medicine and Healthcare Program at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
National Youth Leadership Forum’s Medicine and Healthcare Program is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs (www.envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
Floyd was nominated by her Opelika High School Career Prep coach Amy Hanna, who describes Chloe as an accomplished and service-oriented student whose academic excellence, leadership and commitment to community engagement distinguish her as a rising young leader. Chloe is a dedicated scholar with aspirations of becoming a pediatrician, and is passionate about medicine and improving the health and well-being of children. Beyond her academic pursuits, Chloe is actively involved in her church, where she faithfully leads, serves and engages in spiritual growth. Chloe has earned honors and awards in STEM, writing, leadership and community service. Through her involvement in school, church and community activities, Chloe continues to exemplify excellence, perseverance and servant leadership. As she prepares for a future in medicine, she remains focused on using her talents, faith and determination to positively influence her community and inspire others to pursue their dreams.
“I am excited for Chloe Floyd to meet, work and collaborate with fellow high-aspiring students from other cities and schools,” said Dr. Jan Sikorsky, Vice President, Education for Envision. “National Youth Leadership Forum’s Medicine and Healthcare Program is a wonderful opportunity for ambitious young students to explore their interests outside the classroom and discover how to innovate and think creatively through hands-on immersive learning. Our students are challenged with real-world simulations and problems, working together to develop unique solutions and projects to bring life to their studies and career interests.”
