EAST ALABAMA — Hundreds of pickleball enthusiasts will descend on the Opelika SportsPlex for the Spring 2025 Paddles at the Plex tournament, set for Feb. 27 through March 2.
This is a Southern Pickleball sanctioned event, and all medal winners will become eligible to play in the 2025 Southern Pickleball Championships.
Registration was capped at 500 participants and is now full.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, watch senior (60+) men’s singles and senior women’s doubles.
Friday, Feb. 28, will feature men’s doubles and women’s singles.
On Saturday, March 1, mixed doubles matches will be held.
Sunday, March 2, is set for under 60 men’s singles and under 60 women’s doubles.
All play will be round robin. Playoffs will only occur in brackets divided into pools. In those cases, the top 2 teams from each pool will advance. Top from pool A will play second place from pool B. Top from pool B will play second place from pool A. The 2 winners will play for gold and silver. Losers will play for bronze.
