Tuesdays in the Garden will take place at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 136 E. Magnolia Ave., Auburn, from 2 to 4 p.m. each Tuesday. All are welcome to drop by St. Dunstan’s, enter the beautiful garden, relax and enjoy its beauty. Seating will be provided. St. Dunstan’s has one of the last green-space areas in downtown Auburn. Every Friday night in June, July and August, MARIA Jewelers, located at 231 S. 8th St. in downtown Opelika, will be hosting an evening of free music and jamming from 6 to 8:30 or 9 p.m. in front of the business (inside on rainy days). The event is open and free to everyone — any musician or singer, beginner or semi-pro, is encouraged to come perform. Performers must bring their own portable instrument and any power equipment needed — microphones, a mixer and power amp with large speakers will be supplied as well as about eight folding chairs furnished for musicians and about 25 to 30 for audience members. All music genres, such as country, jazz, pop and more, are welcome. Please no rap and nothing with vulgar language. Order will be random as long as everyone gets chances to play or sing. NOW THROUGH AUG. 29 — CITY MARKET RETURNS TO TOWN CREEK PARK
City Market will return for the 2026 season beginning Saturday, May 23, at Town Creek Park and will continue each Saturday through Aug. 29 from 8 to 11 a.m. The market features fresh produce, locally made goods, handcrafted items, live music and children’s activities. LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will hold several blood drives Aug. 20-22. On Thursday, Aug. 20, donors can give blood at AU Facilities from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or CiCi’s of Auburn from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Friday, Aug. 21, blood drives will be held at Old Navy in Tiger Town from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sardis Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 22, a blood drive will be held at Crossroad Baptist Church in Auburn from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
AUG. 22 — CORNERSTONE’S BACK 2 SCHOOL BASH
Cornerstone Family Chiropractic will host its annual Back 2 School Bash from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 22. The family-focused community event will bring together local businesses, organizations and families for a morning of activities and fun. Sponsorship opportunities are available, with all fees benefiting the BigHouse Foundation.
AUG. 25 — BAND-O-RAMA 2026: Band-O-Rama 2026 will be held at Bulldog Stadium at Opelika High School. Gates open at 6 p.m., with performances beginning at 6:45 p.m. Bands from Auburn High School, Lee-Scott Academy, Central High School, Beauregard High School, Valley High School, Loachapoka High School, Smiths Station High School, Eufaula High School and Opelika High School will perform. Auburn University will present pregame and halftime shows. Admission is free, and concessions will be available.
AUG. 27 — “LEGALLY BLONDE JR.”
Opelika Community Theatre will present “Legally Blonde Jr.” on Aug. 27, 29 and 30 and Sept. 3, 5 and 6. The musical is presented through special arrangement with Musical Theatre International.
AUG. 27 — THE GREAT GROWN-UP SPELLING BEE
The Lee County Literacy Coalition will host The Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee on Thursday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Nonprofit Center of East Alabama, located at 1944 Opelika Road in Auburn. The event will feature door prizes, food, cocktails and fun. Tickets are $40, team sponsorships are $325 and program ads are available for $50 and $100. SEPT. 14 —AU HOMECOMING PARADE
Join the Auburn Family for Homecoming 2026 and enjoy a weekend filled with tradition. The celebration will begin on Friday evening with a parade in downtown Auburn. A pep rally on Samford Lawn will immediately follow the parade. Please be aware that downtown street parking along the parade route will close at 3 p.m. and road closures will start at 4 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, the Auburn Tigers will take on Vanderbilt in Jordan-Hare Stadium (time TBA). Miss Homecoming will be announced at halftime.
