LUNCH AT THE CHAMBER
The Opelika Chamber is hosting “Lunch at the Chamber,” a weekly food truck and pop-up vendor event held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Monday at 200 S. Sixth St., Opelika. The event runs from late February through November and features a rotating lineup of local restaurants and vendors serving lunch outside the Chamber building. TUESDAYS IN THE GARDEN — Beginning Tuesday, April 14, TUESDAYS IN THE GARDEN will take place at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 136 East Magnolia Avenue, Auburn, from 2 to 4 p.m. each Tuesday. All are welcome to drop by St. Dunstan’s, enter the beautiful garden and relax and enjoy its beauty. Seating will be provided. St. Dunstan’s has one of the last green-space areas in downtown Auburn. Thomas Joyner, Rector at St. Dunstan’s and all its members warmly welcome everyone into our beautiful space that God has provided.

Modern Midways Carnival at USA Town Center
Enjoy rides, games and food at the traveling carnival in Opelika. Hours are Monday–Thursday 5–10 p.m., Friday 5–11 p.m., and Saturday–Sunday 1–11 p.m. Wristbands are $30; individual tickets $1.25 each (discount bundles available). Located at 1220 Fox Run Ave.


APRIL 25 — CITY-WIDE CLEAN UP
Keep Opelika Beautiful will partner with the city of Opelika for its annual City-Wide Clean Up on April 25 from 8 to 10 a.m. The anti-litter campaign promotes community pride and brings together residents, businesses and organizations to help keep Opelika clean.

APRIL 27 — FOOD TRUCK MONDAY
Opelika Chamber continues its Food Truck Monday series every Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Downtown Opelika welcomes food trucks offering a variety of lunch options, inviting residents to gather and enjoy local cuisine in a community setting.

APRIL 28 — TASTE OF THE TOWN FUNDRAISER SET IN OPELIKA
The Museum of East Alabama will host its 11th annual Taste of the Town fundraiser April 28 from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring small bites from local restaurants, live music and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event will support the museum’s operations and programs. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for youth.

MAY 1 THROUGH 3Opelika Community Theatre Presents: The Penguin Project Troupe & Players
A nationally recognized inclusive theatre program. Performances feature an inspiring and uplifting production designed for all audiences. MAY 2 — GARDEN IN THE PARK
Keep Opelika Beautiful will host Garden in the Park on May 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Municipal Park. The annual festival features handmade and homegrown art, vendors, entertainment, children’s crafts and food. For more information, visit www.keepopelikabeautiful.com

MAY 2— SPRING NATURE WALK
Friends of Wood Duck Nature Preserve will host a public nature walk Saturday, May 2, rain or shine, beginning at the preserve pavilion, 3601 Waverly Parkway (one-half mile from U.S. 280). Coffee, donuts and light refreshments will be available at 7:30 a.m. for early arrivals. Guided walks to the two covered viewing blinds will begin at 8 a.m. and typically last two to three hours along approximately two miles of trails. Participants may return to the parking area at any time. Highlights include late spring migratory birds, resident wood ducks and ducklings, woodchucks and identification of wildflowers and forest trees. Beginner birders are especially encouraged to attend, and several loaner binoculars will be available. Sturdy footwear is recommended. Restroom facilities are available at the pavilion.

MAY 5 — FLAG RETIREMENT CEREMONY
Boy Scout Troop 11 will host a Flag Retirement Ceremony from 6–7 p.m. at 650 Heard Ave., Auburn. The ceremony honors worn or damaged American flags in accordance with U.S. Flag Code. Community members may bring flags for retirement or drop them off in advance at the troop hut or the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. For more information, call (334) 524-0574.

MAY 7 — BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS TO HOST GREAT FUTURES GALA
Boys & Girls Clubs of East Alabama will host its 36th Annual Great Futures Gala on Thursday, May 7, at the Jay & Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center in Auburn. The event will feature stories from Club youth and tastings from local chefs, with proceeds supporting programs that serve area youth.
