SMITHS STATION — Glenwood School’s senior class domnated in a two-game sweep of 3A Area 6 foes Beulah High School, with the No. 2 Gators (26-7,7-0) defeating the Bobcats (10-12,1-7) 10-0 at home on April 16 and 13-2 in Beulah on April 17.
Both games were ended after five innings due to the run rule, with Glenwood controlling both matchup from start to finish.
Game 1
The Glennwood players honored on Senior Night included Cal Lawrence, Cam Dawson, Carter Judah, Jake Levy, Peter Sfkanios, Hudson Campbell, Mac Blair, Kade Cox and Ethan Henderson, all of whom contributed to a complete team performance across the series.
Glenwood set the tone early, scoring twice in the first inning behind a double from Campbell and a catcher’s interference call. The Gators then broke the game open in the second inning with five runs on four hits. Judah delivered a key two-run double in the frame; Dawson added a sacrifice bunt RBI, and Lawrence followed with an RBI double as Glenwood built a commanding lead.
Glenwood finished the opener with nine hits. Judah led the offense, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs, while Campbell also went 2-for-3 at the plate. The Gators added four stolen bases, with Sawyer Moss accounting for two of them.
On the mound, Cooper Favors was dominant in a complete-game effort, throwing five shutout innings while allowing three hits, striking out nine and walking one. Glenwood also played clean defensively, committing no errors.
Beulah managed three hits in the first game, coming from Kason Kalla, Jadin Hancock and Ryder Lowery, but struggled to generate sustained offense against Favors.
Game 2
In the second meeting, Beulah briefly took the lead, scoring twice in the first inning on a solo home run from Hancock and an RBI single from Devin Suggs. Kalla led the Bobcats offensively, finishing 2-for-3.
However, Glenwood quickly responded with a decisive 10-run second inning. The Gators combined six hits with 10 walks and defensive miscues to take full control of the game. Kade Cox and Cam Dawson each collected two hits, while Cox, Trey Claridy and Andrew Wilkinson each drove in two runs. Judah added a two-RBI single during the inning as Glenwood turned an early deficit into another runaway victory.
Hayden English earned the win in the second game allowing two runs on three hits over two innings with three strikeouts. Claridy and Henderson combined for three scoreless innings in relief to close out the win.
Across both games, Glenwood outscored Beulah 23-2, recording 18 total hits while drawing 10 walks in the second game alone. The Gators also combined for eight stolen bases across the series and committed zero errors in the opener.
Beulah finished the two-game stretch with six total hits and showed early offense after the second game but was unable to slow Glenwood’s second-inning surge.
Glenwood now hosts the first round of the 3A playoffs against Montgomery Academy on April 24. First pitch will be at 4:30 p.m. at Tim Fanning Field.
