OPELIKA — The Opelika Chamber of Commerce introduced three new professionals joining its team, each bringing unique expertise to further the Chamber’s mission of strengthening the community as the champion of business.
“We are truly excited to have a complete team that is dedicated to serving our members and fostering strong business connections,” said Mackenzie Poole, vice president of the Opelika Chamber. “We can’t wait to see the positive impact they will have on our business community.”
The new staffers include Saffron Koppelmann as marketing and events specialist, LaTanda “Shay” Wimberly as first impression coordinator and Mary Morgan Sholter as member services coordinator.

Marketing and Events Specialist – Saffron Koppelmann

She will be the go-to resource for businesses looking to maximize their exposure through the Chamber’s marketing platforms and events. Whether it’s getting the word out through newsletters or identifying the best promotional opportunities, she is eager to help businesses thrive.
When she’s not helping plan events or creating content, you’ll find her exploring new restaurants in the Auburn-Opelika area. As a dedicated foodie, it’s no surprise she is also the primary contact for Food Truck Friday. You can contact Saffron at saffron@opelikachamber.com.

With her welcoming personality and attention to detail, Shay ensures every visitor and caller has a positive experience. Whether greeting guests at the front desk or providing helpful information, she is the friendly face and voice of the Opelika Chamber.
Shay enjoys spending time outdoors and meeting new people, and she loves Opelika’s perfect blend of small-town charm and modern growth. She is especially excited to greet visitors and members in the Chamber’s brand-new building. Contact Shay at shay@opelikachamber.com.
