A memorial service for Ernie Ward of Opelika was held Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel.
Mr. Ward, who died Nov. 28, 2021, in Opelika, Alabama, was born Jan. 21, 1940, in Rockford, Illinois.
Mr. Ward was a member of First Baptist Church of Opelika. He was a member of the Barry Dudley Sunday School Class. Ernie was a loving father and devoted grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ward.
He is survived by his wife Colleen Ward; one son, Kevin (Ashley) Ward of LaGrange, Georgia; one daughter, Sheila (Jeff) Henkey of Birmingham, Alabama; three brothers and one sister; five grandchildren, Grant Henkey of Atlanta, Georgia; Madison and Regan Henkey of Birmingham, Alabama; Abby and Jackson Ward of LaGrange, Georgia.
