Harold D. “Whodo” Wood Jr. passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Nov. 24, 2021.

He was a longtime resident of Opelika.  “Whodo” was retired from Uniroyal Goodrich. After he retired, he enjoyed working outdoors and being with his family.

Mr. Wood is preceded in death by his parents Harold D. Wood, Sr. and Mary Augusta Wood; his daughter, Vickie Coxwell, and two brothers, Denny and Larry Wood.  Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Nell Wood;  two sons: Channing Wood (Felicia) of Opelika and Robert Martin, Jr. (Carla) of Salem; one daughter: Robin Martin of Opelika; grandchildren: Bryce Martin, Carlee Martin, Tanner Martin, Kristina Beckwith, Rachel  Walters, and Dustin Wood; great grandchildren: Baylor Martin, Kynlee Martin, Ally Galloway, Collin Galloway, Brandon Beckwith, Will Beckwith, and Justin Beckwith; three nephews: Todd Wood, John Robert Wood, and Britt Wood; two nieces: Katie Marie Wood Paige and Elizabeth Wood Moses;  two sister-in-law’s: Billie Sue Wood and Patty Wood.

A private memorial service will be held at his home with family at a later date.
