Special to the
Opelika Observer

The Opelika Wood Duck Heritage Preserve and Siddique Nature Park will host a a relaxing walk through the woods on two miles of trails Oct. 19 starting at 8 a.m.
Fall migrating birds are here, and this may be the best chance until spring to see non-resident warblers. The recent cooler weather may have brought in ducks to the lagoon, which may be observed from two viewing blinds. Loaner binoculars will be available. Opelika Wood Duck Heritage Preserve and Siddique Nature Park is site #10 on the Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail map.
The pavilion is located at 3601 Waverly Parkway in Opelika, one-half mile from U.S. Highway 280 West. There will be refreshments before the walk.
