For those of us holding out hope for rain, we may be in luck Monday and Tuesday. The last measurable rain was 26 days ago, and while this forecast won’t be a drought buster it will be a welcome relief to Opelika.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a 30{44c616e11cf70d617c8dd92fb0bc15f41001df771f775c6b004238009c89a3f0} chance of showers after noon and that increases to 80{44c616e11cf70d617c8dd92fb0bc15f41001df771f775c6b004238009c89a3f0} Monday night. Rain chances increase Tuesday and into Wednesday with a passing cold front that will bring additional moisture behind the front as opposed to the usual dry pattern after a passing front.
Once the cold front passes through, daytime highs will struggle to reach 60 degrees and evening lows will dip into the 40’s.
