AUBURN — All four of the Auburn High School and Lee-Scott Academy girls and boys soccer teams have advanced to their respective semifinals.
After running roughshod over Enterprise High School in the first round of the 7A playoffs, AHS traveled to the Mobile area on May 1 with high expectations. They did not disappoint.
The No. 3 Lady Tigers beat both the impending downpour and No. 8 McGill-Toolen Catholic with a dominant 3-0 showing.
Across Mobile Bay, the No. 5 Tigers put in a gritty shift under a rain-torn sky to defeat Daphne High School 2-0.
The day before, LSA’s teams went down to Dothan on April 30 to face the Houston Academy girls team and the Providence Christian boys team in the 1A-3A playoffs.
In a high-octane showdown, the No. 3 Lady Warriors dispatched of the No. 1 Lady Raiders by a 2-0 scoreline to continue their title defense.
Simultaneously, the Warriors added another top-10 scalp to their resume after taking down No. 5 Tuscaloosa Academy earlier in the week
In an identical spread to the girls’ team, LSA’s boys moved forward with a 2-0 win over the No. 7 Eagles.

What’s next
The LSA girls and boys faced Tuscaloosa Academy and The Altamont, respectively, in the 1A-3A semifinals at Huntsville’s John Hunt Soccer Park on Wednesday, May 6.
Those results were not available by Tuesday’s press deadline.
The AHS girls and boys will face Dothan High School and Fairhope High School, respectively, in the 7A semifinals at John Hunt Soccer Park Thursday, May 7, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
